New Territory

Stepping in to new territory takes a heck of a lot of courage. As if we are walking on to a freshly frozen lake we are cautious. Testing. We think we may have heard from God, the still small whisper of the Holy Spirit and we’ve become a touch uncomfortable. This word is still new, we’re mulling, praying, seeking a bit more confirmation.

Firstly, we want to be assured we have heard from God. Pray, pray, pray and ask for clarity and direction. Get into the word and expect God to speak to you. Get together with people who passionately love the Lord and who you love and trust. Use them as a sounding board and ask for their wisdom. Get these trusted friends to pray around this with you also. Likely if the thing you think God may be calling you to do is going to bring blessing to others, blessing to you, glory to God and make you feel just a touch like you’re about to bungee jump into the unknown you’re on a winner.

You’ve got the green light! Now is the time to get your feelers out! What do you need to know that you don’t already? Will you need to upskill? Who is doing this already who you can come alongside and learn from? What resources are you going to need? Research your heart out until you know exactly what will be involved.

Now go in faith! You’re in the stream of God’s will. He will continue to open doors for you and do miraculous and amazing things to provide for you, sustain you, work through you. You will receive the very power of God, God Himself with you and for you. And you will look back and be astounded by the amazing things God has done!

Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. Heb 13:20-21
